Original job description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a SimCorp GAIN Technical Lead based in the United States.
Take technical ownership of a highly customized SimCorp GAIN Security Master environment supporting a leading global investment management organization. In this hands-on engineering role, you will enhance critical data infrastructure while supporting a broader transformation toward BlackRock Aladdin. You will work directly with GAIN Studio and Data Browser, developing integrations, refining complex processing logic, and resolving challenging data-quality issues. The position combines deep technical problem-solving with the opportunity to shape engineering practices and strengthen internal expertise. You will collaborate with investment technology teams across multiple regions to ensure reliable security and reference data flows. This is a permanent, fully remote opportunity for an experienced GAIN specialist who wants to remain close to the technology while taking meaningful technical ownership.
Accountabilities
You will lead hands-on engineering across a sophisticated GAIN Security Master environment, maintaining and improving its integrations, data models, and processing capabilities. Your responsibilities will include:
• Develop, configure, and maintain SimCorp GAIN Security Master solutions using GAIN Studio and Data Browser.
• Build and enhance data integrations from multiple upstream sources, including Bloomberg, BlackRock Aladdin, and internal systems.
• Develop and modify complex data transformation, normalization, cleansing, derivation, and validation rules.
• Investigate and reverse-engineer existing configurations to understand data flows and highly customized processing logic.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, including feed failures, transformation errors, and inconsistent security master data.
• Configure source-specific processing logic and maintain the integrity of instrument, issuer, attribute, and reference data.
• Build, configure, and maintain GAIN environments, including testing, production, and disaster recovery infrastructure.
• Support upstream and downstream integration changes as the wider investment technology transformation progresses.
• Collaborate with investment technology teams to deliver reliable and scalable Security Master capabilities.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership through engineering, troubleshooting, knowledge sharing, and support for internal team development.
• Help establish stronger internal technical capabilities and reduce reliance on external specialist consultants.
Requirements
The ideal candidate is an experienced SimCorp GAIN specialist with substantial hands-on engineering expertise and the ability to independently manage complex technical challenges. Required qualifications include:
• Extensive and recent hands-on experience with SimCorp GAIN, ideally with several years of direct technical responsibility for the platform.
• Strong practical expertise in GAIN Studio, including developing, configuring, modifying, and troubleshooting solutions independently.
• Demonstrated experience with GAIN Security Master, including instruments, issuers, attributes, and reference data management.
• Hands-on proficiency with GAIN Data Browser for data investigation, analysis, and troubleshooting.
• Proven experience developing and maintaining upstream data feeds and integrations within GAIN.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end security data processing, including ingestion, parsing, normalization, cleansing, custom business rules, derivations, and downstream distribution.
• Ability to understand, troubleshoot, and modify complex existing GAIN configurations rather than relying exclusively on new implementations.
• Practical experience configuring or establishing GAIN environments and supporting their ongoing operation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work independently on challenging technical issues.
• Willingness to remain actively involved in development, configuration, and hands-on engineering rather than focusing solely on project management or high-level architecture.
Desirable qualifications:
• Experience integrating SimCorp GAIN with BlackRock Aladdin, Bloomberg, or other enterprise market data platforms.
• Familiarity with Bloomberg Back Office data feeds.
• Experience with GAIN Data Management Core (DMC), process context, and source-dependent processing.
• Previous involvement in large-scale investment platform migrations or complex enterprise data integration programs.
• Experience working directly for SimCorp or within a technically focused GAIN implementation or engineering team.
• Background in investment management, asset management, or capital markets technology.
Benefits
• Permanent, full-time employment.
• Fully remote working arrangement.
• Primary hiring locations in India, particularly Hyderabad and Chennai, with potential opportunities in the United Kingdom, United States, and Poland, subject to local hiring arrangements and salary approval.
• Opportunity to take genuine technical ownership of a business-critical, highly customized GAIN environment.
• Exposure to a major investment technology transformation involving BlackRock Aladdin.
• Opportunity to solve complex engineering challenges and influence platform reliability and technical standards.
• Ability to help build internal engineering expertise and reduce dependence on external consultants.
• Opportunity to provide hands-on technical leadership while remaining directly involved in the technology.
