Senior Security Engineer, Infrastructure

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Security Engineer, Infrastructure based in the United States.

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Security Engineer to strengthen the security, reliability, and operational resilience of cloud infrastructure supporting critical SaaS products and AI platforms. In this role, you will work across AWS, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code environments, combining production operations with practical security engineering. You will investigate infrastructure issues, respond to production alerts, and implement improvements that reduce risk and make systems more reliable. Working closely with Infrastructure Security, Platform Engineering, AI, and other engineering teams, you will address vulnerabilities and misconfigurations at their source. This is an opportunity to contribute directly to the security of complex cloud and AI infrastructure in a collaborative, fast-moving engineering environment. The position is fully remote and available to candidates in selected U.S. states.

Accountabilities:

• Troubleshoot Kubernetes workloads and cloud services by investigating pod health, logs, errors, latency, and upstream provider issues to identify root causes.

• Develop, review, and deploy Terraform and Kubernetes changes that improve the security and reliability of cloud infrastructure and hosted AI platforms.

• Strengthen AWS and edge/network security controls, including identity and access management (IAM), networking, secrets management, encryption, and logging.

• Improve Cloudflare and related infrastructure controls while reducing recurring misconfigurations through reusable patterns, automation, and operational runbooks.

• Use Python or similar scripting languages to automate operational tasks and improve monitoring and incident response.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to investigate security issues, implement remediation plans, and ensure fixes are completed effectively.

• Participate in the AI platform on-call rotation, triaging production alerts, troubleshooting incidents, communicating updates, and escalating issues when necessary.

• Contribute to infrastructure security improvements through cross-functional collaboration and continuous operational enhancement.

Requirements:

• Professional experience operating production cloud infrastructure, preferably in AWS.

• Working knowledge of cloud security controls, including IAM, networking, secrets management, encryption, and logging.

• Hands-on production Kubernetes experience, including inspecting workloads, reviewing logs, and troubleshooting failures through command-line tools.

• Experience authoring Terraform changes that have been reviewed and deployed to production environments.

• Familiarity with Git-based workflows, including source control, pull requests, and collaborative code reviews.

• Previous production on-call or incident-response experience, with the ability to investigate alerts, communicate clearly, and make sound escalation decisions.

• Scripting proficiency in Python or a similar language, along with familiarity with monitoring and logging tools.

• Strong collaboration and communication skills, particularly when working with stakeholders across engineering and security teams.

• A proactive, team-oriented approach to problem-solving, with the ability to prioritize urgent issues and drive remediation through completion.

Nice to have:

• Experience operating AI/ML infrastructure, LLM platforms, or services integrated with model providers.

• Familiarity with AI gateway concepts such as model routing, quotas, and related platform controls.

• Experience with Cloudflare or other edge and network security technologies.

• Exposure to cloud security posture management tools such as Wiz, Prisma Cloud, or Orca.

• Familiarity with GitOps tools such as Argo CD or Flux.

• Experience in blockchain, cryptocurrency, fintech, or regtech environments.

• Exposure to technologies such as AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, Terraform, GitHub Actions, Artifactory, Java, JavaScript, Go, and AI coding tools.

Benefits:

• Tier 1 base salary: $167,790–$227,010, plus equity and bonus opportunities.

• Tier 2 base salary: $147,263–$199,238, plus equity and bonus opportunities.

• Compensation tier and final offer may depend on the applicable location and the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
