• Develop new business opportunities and manage existing accounts, particularly companies progressing from clinical development toward commercialization.
• Schedule and conduct meetings with prospective and existing clients through email, telephone, and web conferencing, as well as in-person meetings when possible.
• Represent the organization at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to increase brand awareness and generate qualified leads.
• Follow up on leads generated through sales and marketing campaigns and convert them into meaningful business opportunities.
• Support marketing initiatives by promoting webinars, seminars, and conference meetings to prospective clients.
• Monitor industry developments, including funding activities, regulatory changes, mergers and acquisitions, licensing agreements, grants, drug approvals, patent activity, and market growth.
• Build and maintain a professional network through LinkedIn and other industry-related platforms.
• Identify and recommend new strategies and initiatives to improve business development performance.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records, including client contacts, qualified leads, prospect information, and new account details.
Requirements
The ideal candidate combines a strong scientific background with business development experience and the ability to build lasting relationships in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. The following qualifications are expected:
• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline, together with professional training or experience in business, marketing, or sales.
• PhD is highly preferred.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in oligonucleotide or peptide drug development, or within the CRO/CMO industry.
• Strong business development, prospecting, sales, and client relationship management skills.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and commercial stakeholders.
• Self-motivated, proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
• Sound professional judgment and the ability to handle complex business situations effectively.
• Familiarity with CRM platforms such as Salesforce and/or Microsoft Dynamics CRM is preferred.
• Ability to develop and maintain a strong professional network within the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors.
Benefits
• Fully remote position within the United States.
• Opportunity to contribute to the growth of innovative oligonucleotide and peptide drug development solutions.
