Original job description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer based in the United States.
Join a data-driven team focused on transforming complex business data into actionable insights that support strategic and operational decisions. As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you will design and maintain scalable data models, semantic layers, and executive-facing dashboards that help teams understand performance and identify opportunities for growth. You will combine strong SQL expertise, analytical thinking, and business intelligence engineering to build reliable reporting solutions. Working across product, engineering, finance, operations, and business intelligence, you will translate business needs into meaningful metrics and trusted datasets. You will also strengthen data quality, improve analytics infrastructure, and establish consistent documentation and reporting standards. This fully remote opportunity is ideal for an experienced analytics professional who enjoys technical ownership, cross-functional collaboration, and mentoring others.
Accountabilities:
As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you will own the development and delivery of analytics solutions, ensuring that data models, dashboards, and reporting systems provide accurate, accessible, and actionable information across the organization.
• Build and maintain robust, executive-facing dashboards that support strategic, business, and operational decision-making.
• Design, develop, and optimize scalable data models, semantic layers, and reporting datasets using dbt, Looker, SQL, and related technologies.
• Analyze large datasets using data modeling, statistical methods, and other analytical techniques to identify trends, patterns, anomalies, and business opportunities.
• Develop, maintain, and manage the Looker analytics platform to improve reporting capabilities and data accessibility.
• Lead analytics engineering initiatives from requirements gathering through implementation, proactively managing timelines, dependencies, and stakeholder communications.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, business intelligence, finance, operations, and other teams to define metrics, establish analytics requirements, and deliver effective reporting solutions.
• Identify and resolve data quality issues by implementing validation checks, improving data reliability, and enhancing analytics processes and tools.
• Create and maintain documentation covering metrics, data models, dashboards, business logic, and analytics workflows to ensure consistency and usability.
• Mentor junior analytics engineers, provide constructive feedback, participate in code reviews, and help establish standards that improve the quality and consistency of analytics work.
• Present analytical findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in data analytics and business intelligence, hands-on experience with modern analytics tools, and the ability to translate complex datasets into insights that drive business outcomes.
• Bachelor's degree or U.S. equivalent in Business Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Data Science, or a related field.
• At least 4 years of professional experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a related data-focused role involving data analysis, modeling, reporting, and dashboards.
• At least 4 years of experience writing, optimizing, and using SQL queries to analyze large datasets and support reporting and analytics.
• At least 4 years of experience designing, building, and maintaining business intelligence dashboards and reports using visualization tools such as Looker or Tableau.
• At least 4 years of experience analyzing large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies and support business decisions.
• At least 4 years of experience developing dashboards and reports for business and operational decision-making.
• At least 3 years of experience designing and maintaining data models for analytics and reporting.
• At least 2 years of experience working with data infrastructure components, including ETL/ELT processes and analytics platforms.
• At least 2 years of experience collaborating with product and engineering teams to define analytics requirements and reporting solutions.
• At least 2 years of experience presenting analytical findings to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to manage projects and collaborate across functional teams.
• Ability to work remotely while maintaining effective communication, accountability, and ownership of deliverables.
• Must reside in the United States and be authorized to work in the country. The role does not specify visa sponsorship availability, so applicants should confirm their eligibility directly with the hiring team.
Benefits:
• Annual base salary: $144,414–$183,000, plus equity and benefits. Compensation depends on role level, location, and other relevant factors.
• Health insurance and wellness benefits.
• Equity awards.
• 401(k) retirement benefits.
• Flexible paid time off and other employee benefits.
• Fully remote work arrangement within the United States.
• Opportunities to collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to data-driven business initiatives.
• Professional development through technical ownership, mentoring, and exposure to modern analytics technologies.
• An inclusive workplace that values diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences.
• Reasonable accommodations for candidates with disabilities throughout the recruitment process.
