Accounting Manager

We help customers in industrial, energy, manufacturing, and other demanding environments keep critical instruments accurate, compliant, and ready to perform. Job Summary In this role, you will own the accuracy and efficiency of our accounting operations across every JM Test location. Reporting to the Controller and partnering closely with the CFO, you'll lead the close, own the general ledger, and guide a team that includes the AP Supervisor and staff accountants. Success means a timely, accurate close, clean audit-ready financials, and clear insights that help leadership make decisions. Key Responsibilities & Outcomes · Own the close. Lead the monthly and annual close across all locations, delivering timely, accurate financial statements. · Protect GL integrity. Review and approve journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations to keep the ledger clean and GAAP-compliant. · Lead the team. Coach and develop the AP Supervisor and staff accountants, set priorities, and hold the team accountable for accuracy and timeliness. · Deliver insight. Support the Controller and CFO with variance analysis and executive and location-level reporting. · Manage compliance and controls. Oversee multi-jurisdiction sales and use tax compliance, strengthen internal controls, and support internal and external audits. · Improve how we work. Reduce errors and rework, streamline processes, and get more out of Sage 100. · Partner across the business. Work with AR, Purchasing, Payroll, and department leaders to keep financial data consistent and accurate.

Requirements

Education · Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. · Preferred: CPA, or progress toward one. Experience · 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, including month-end close and financial reporting. · Preferred: experience leading or mentoring others; multi-location or service-based organizations; Sage 100 or a similar ERP. Skills & Capabilities · Strong knowledge of GAAP and advanced Excel skills. · High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. · Able to manage multiple deadlines while communicating and collaborating well.
