CAD Operator

CAD Operator | JANUS et Cie | Santa Fe Springs, CA (On-site) Do you love turning a designer's sketch into a drawing a factory can build from? JANUS et Cie, a luxury outdoor furniture company, is looking for a detail-driven CAD Operator to join our cushions manufacturing department. In this role, you'll create accurate, production-ready drawings and 3D models for our outdoor furniture collections. Working across AutoCAD, Rhino 3D and SolidWorks, you'll partner with designers, product development and our manufacturing partners. Your drawings are the bridge between concept and finished piece, so precision and clear communication matter as much as software skill. What you'll do

• Create detailed 2D shop drawings, assembly drawings and spec sheets in AutoCAD
• Build and refine 3D surface and solid models in Rhino 3D and SolidWorks
• Prepare technical drawing packages with dimensions, tolerances, materials, finishes and hardware callouts
• Translate design intent into buildable details for teak, aluminum, stainless steel, woven fiber, stone and outdoor textiles
• Revise drawings based on prototype reviews and factory feedback, keeping a clear revision history
• Produce drawings and CAD blocks for sales, hospitality and commercial projects, and custom client requests
• Manage our CAD file library and drawing standards
• Collaborate with Design, Product Development, Sourcing and Sales to hit launch and project deadlines

What you bring

• 3–5 years of experience as a CAD Operator, Drafter or CAD Technician, ideally in furniture, product design or manufacturing
• Advanced AutoCAD skills, plus working proficiency in Rhino 3D and SolidWorks
• Strong knowledge of drafting standards, dimensioning, tolerances and orthographic, section and detail views
• An understanding of how furniture is built: joinery, fasteners, hardware and material behavior
• Sharp attention to detail and clear communication with designers, engineers and overseas partners
• The ability to juggle several projects and meet deadlines
• An associate degree or technical certificate in drafting, industrial design or a related field, or equivalent experience

Bonus points for

• Experience with outdoor materials and finishes such as marine-grade materials, powder coating or performance fabrics
• Preparing drawings for overseas factories and working across time zones
• Rendering tools (KeyShot, V-Ray) or Adobe Creative Suite
• PDM or PLM systems for file and revision control
• A bachelor's degree in industrial design, mechanical engineering technology or a related field
