NOTICE OF VACANCY

Jackson Madison County School System Deadline: Until Filled TITLE: Crossing Guard REPORTS TO: Building Administrator

SUPERVISES: N/A

TERM: Part-time, Non-exempt JOB GOAL: To assist JMCSS students with crossing traffic intersections and to direct traffic at assigned post before and after school hours when children are entering and leaving school.

QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING:

• High School Diploma/GED
• FBI/TBI Fingerprint/Background Clearance every five (5) years

Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent might find appropriate and acceptable EVALULATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of personnel.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Stops traffic at crosswalks near school for the safety of school children.
• Controls vehicular or pedestrian traffic at street crossings.
• Assists children crossing the street going to and returning from school.
• Instructs younger children in the precautions to be taken when crossing the street
• Acts quickly in emergencies.
