The Software Engineering Manager leads a team that builds and operates cloud services, web applications, and data pipelines products for credit unions. The manager develops the team, guides architecture and design decisions, and oversees services that connect cloud applications to on-premises core systems through REST APIs, batch processing, and data streaming.

Own the team's availability, performance, observability, incident response, and post-incident improvements.
Review architecture and system designs and provide technical guidance with other engineering and architecture leaders.
Establish standards for design reviews, code reviews, automated testing, security, debugging, and release readiness.
Oversee REST APIs and batch, streaming, and change data capture pipelines that move data from on-premises core systems to cloud applications.
Coordinate dependencies with product, cloud, data, security, architecture, and on-premises core teams.
Communicate progress, risks, tradeoffs, staffing needs, and technical decisions to product and technology leaders.
May perform other job duties as assigned.
What you'll need to have:
A minimum of 7 years of experience in software development.
At least 1 year of experience managing software engineers as direct reports.
Experience designing, building, and operating cloud-based software systems.
Experience reviewing architecture and system designs and providing technical guidance to engineering teams.

Experience developing REST APIs, distributed services, or data-intensive applications.
What would be nice for you to have:
Experience developing software products for banks, credit unions, or other financial institutions.
Experience developing cloud services with GCP and Golang.
Experience with AWS or Azure may substitute for direct GCP experience.
Experience designing and building batch and streaming data pipelines, including change data capture.
Experience integrating cloud applications with on-premises systems.
Experience coaching engineers with different skill and experience levels.
