Original job description

Job Type: Full-Time l Location: San Francisco, CA l Department: AI Infrastructure Supply Chain l Reporting to: Director, Supply Chain Analytics | Work Location Type: #hybrid

IREN is a leading AI Cloud Service Provider, delivering large-scale GPU clusters for AI training and inference. IREN’s vertically integrated platform is underpinned by its expansive portfolio of grid-connected land and data centers in renewable-rich regions across the U.S. and Canada.

The Senior Data Scientist, Full Stack enables the modernization of IREN’s global Supply Chain systems and tools portfolio. Reporting to the Director, Supply Chain Analytics & Engineering, this individual will shape the data architecture, tooling standards and ways of working rather than inherit them. The work spans GPU and compute hardware, networking, power and electrical equipment, construction materials and services – categories with long lead times, constrained supply and high capital intensity, where data quality directly affects delivery dates and cost.

With 100% renewable energy, we build, own and operate our data centers and take pride in being at the forefront of sustainable solutions for the ever-evolving applications of high performance compute. We believe that human progress is invaluable, but it should be done in the right way - responsibly, sustainably and having a positive impact on the communities we operate in.

Responsibilities

Data pipelines and integration

Design, build and maintain reliable ELT/ETL pipelines from supply chain source systems (ERP, procurement/P2P, inventory and warehouse, project controls, logistics and supplier portals) into the analytics platform.
Integrate external data such as supplier catalogs, lead-time and market-price feeds, freight and customs data, and OEM shipment notifications.
Own pipeline orchestration, scheduling, monitoring and alerting so data lands on time and failures are caught before users see them.

Data modeling and standards

Build and document the supply chain data model: supplier, material/part, purchase order, contract, receipt, inventory, shipment and project/site dimensions and facts.
Define conformed dimensions and master-data rules (supplier hierarchy, category taxonomy, site and project codes) with the Director, Data Analytics and master-data owners.
Set and enforce engineering standards for the team: version control, code review, testing, environments and deployment.

Data quality and governance

Implement automated data-quality checks (completeness, freshness, reconciliation to source) and publish data-quality metrics.
Maintain data lineage, definitions and a catalog so analysts and business users can trust and find the data.
Determine and implement the security model based on privacy requirements, confirm safeguards are followed, address data quality issues, and evolve governance processes within allocated areas of ownership.

Analytics enablement

Partner with analysts to deliver the datasets behind spend cubes, supplier scorecards, lead-time and on-time-delivery tracking, inventory health and transformation KPIs.
Design, build, and launch dashboards and visualization reporting that support multiple use cases across different domains.
Build the data foundations for forecasting and planning use cases (demand and lead-time forecasting, should-cost, supplier risk) and support analytics and data science teammates in productionizing models.
Contribute to system-selection and implementation work (procurement, planning and supplier-management tools) by defining data requirements and integration patterns.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, supply chain or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
8+ years in data engineering, with at least 2 years building pipelines and data models for supply chain, procurement, operations or finance data.
Excel at data driven storytelling to cater to a broad stakeholder team and audience.
Strong understanding of supply chain processes, tools, stakeholder interactions, and processes and experience working with ERP/MRP, CLM, PLM, QMS tools
Expert SQL and strong Python; comfortable with dbt or an equivalent transformation framework.
Hands-on experience with a modern cloud data platform (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery or Redshift) and an orchestration tool (Airflow, Dagster, Prefect or similar).
Hands-on experience with AI-native analytics.
Experience integrating ERP and procurement systems (for example SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Dynamics, Coupa or Ariba) via APIs, extracts or CDC.
Solid grounding in dimensional modeling, master-data concepts and data-quality practices.
Software engineering discipline: Git, CI/CD, automated testing, infrastructure-as-code basics.
Prefer experience in data center, AI infrastructure, energy, construction or other capital-project-heavy industries with long-lead equipment (GPUs, networking, transformers, switchgear, generators).

Other important requirements

Pre-employment screening, including background check and substance testing may be required according to company policies.
Must be able to reliably commute to the assigned office location on scheduled in-office days under the hybrid work arrangement.
This role requires willingness to travel domestically and internationally to supplier and vendor sites, data centers, implementation partner locations, and industry events. IREN does not yet have an office in the Bay Area (a Santa Clara office is planned); until it opens, this role will work remotely, transitioning to hybrid on-site work once the office is established.

Benefits

The IREN Package At IREN, we offer a highly competitive compensation package that includes base salary, annual performance incentives, and opportunities to build long-term wealth through equity programs. These offerings are part of our broader Total Rewards package, thoughtfully designed to support your health, well-being, and long-term success.

Compensation

The expected base salary for this role USD $225,000-$285,000/annum.
Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and market data for the region.
Total Compensation package may be inclusive of annual incentive bonus, equity (long-term incentive).
Relocation or Living-out-allowance / per diem (as appliable and based on successful candidate circumstances)

Health & Wellness

100% company paid health insurance premiums (medical, dental, and vision) for employees, 75% company paid coverage for dependents
Company-paid short-term and long-term disability insurance
Voluntary life, critical illness, and accident coverage available
Health Savings Accounts (HSA) – when combined with the High Deductible Health Plan
Employee Assistance Program and wellness resources

401(k) retirement plan with company match
Access to financial planning and legal services
