Pediatric Program Manager

Iowa Home Care | West Des Moines, Iowa

Help Us Grow a Program That Makes a Difference in the Lives of Children and Families!

At Iowa Home Care, we believe every child deserves access to compassionate, high-quality care that allows them to thrive in the comfort of their home.

We are looking for a passionate, experienced, and motivated Pediatric Program Manager to lead and grow our pediatric home health program, with a primary focus on Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic, and Treatment (EPSDT) services and Iowa Medicaid Waiver programs.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse (RN) with pediatric experience OR a Social Worker with experience supporting children with special healthcare needs and their families preferred.

We aren't just looking for someone to manage a program. We're looking for someone who wants to build a team, advocate for children, strengthen care coordination, and help expand access to essential pediatric services throughout Iowa.

What You'll Do

Lead Our Pediatric Program

  • Provide leadership and operational oversight of Iowa Home Care's pediatric EPSDT program and related waiver services.
  • Coordinate individualized care planning to ensure children receive appropriate, timely, and comprehensive services.
  • Work closely with our Clinical Management Team to support quality care delivery, regulatory compliance, and positive patient outcomes.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource for Iowa Medicaid EPSDT requirements, waiver programs, authorizations, and available community resources.
  • Help families navigate the complexities of pediatric healthcare services and available support programs.

Build and Grow an Exceptional Team

  • Lead efforts to recruit, develop, and retain compassionate nurses and caregivers dedicated to serving children with complex healthcare needs.
  • Partner with clinical leadership and recruiting teams to identify staffing needs and expand pediatric service capacity.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and supportive team environment where employees feel valued and empowered.
  • Support employee orientation, education, professional development, and ongoing performance improvement.

Partner With Clinical Leadership

  • Collaborate with Clinical Managers to coordinate patient care, monitor service delivery, and support individualized plans of care.
  • For candidates who are not licensed Registered Nurses, work directly with RN Clinical Managers who retain responsibility for nursing assessments, clinical supervision, and other functions requiring RN licensure.
  • Promote communication and collaboration among families, physicians, case managers, schools, community partners, and interdisciplinary care teams.
  • Identify opportunities to improve care coordination, patient satisfaction, and operational effectiveness.

Expand Our Reach and Impact

  • Develop relationships with referral sources, Medicaid case managers, community organizations, and other professionals serving children with special healthcare needs.
  • Identify opportunities to expand pediatric services into underserved communities.
  • Help remove barriers that prevent children and families from accessing needed care.
  • Play an active role in shaping the future growth and success of Iowa Home Care's pediatric program.

The Person Who Will Thrive in This Role

You are someone who:

  • Loves building and growing a team and takes pride in helping others succeed.
  • Understands that navigating healthcare services for children with complex needs can be overwhelming for families.
  • Is knowledgeable about Medicaid programs or eager to develop that knowledge.
  • Can balance compassion with accountability, organization, and operational excellence.
  • Enjoys working collaboratively with nurses, social workers, families, and community partners.
  • Sees opportunities to grow services and is motivated to turn those opportunities into results.
  • Believes every child deserves the opportunity to receive exceptional care at home.
