Summary

Invictus Strategy & Solutions is seeking a Junior AI Engineer with 3–5 years of experience in software development, data engineering, or analytics to develop enterprise AI solutions supporting the financial services industry. This hands-on position requires strong Python and Snowflake experience, along with practical experience completing Generative AI projects. The successful candidate will independently design and develop AI solutions, including intelligent workflow agents, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) applications, and enterprise data integrations, while collaborating with senior architects and technical teams.

Essential Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Generative AI applications, intelligent workflow agents, and RAG solutions
• Build and maintain data pipelines and application components using Python, SQL, and Snowflake
• Independently design technical solutions while collaborating with senior architects on architecture and implementation
• Develop REST APIs, semantic search capabilities, and enterprise application integrations
• Support AI solutions using Snowflake Cortex, Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, or similar technologies
• Test, troubleshoot, evaluate, and optimize AI applications to ensure reliability and performance
• Collaborate with engineering teams and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions

Required Skills and Key Competencies

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field
• 3–5 years of professional experience in software development, data engineering, analytics, or related disciplines
• Strong hands-on Python programming experience
• Practical experience working with Snowflake
• Proficiency in SQL and working with enterprise data
• Experience completing at least one to two Generative AI projects, including professional, academic, or independently developed solutions
• Foundational understanding of machine learning, Generative AI, RAG architectures, and AI application development
• Ability to independently design and troubleshoot technical solutions with guidance from senior architects
• Familiarity with REST APIs, Git, and Agile development practices
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing AI workflow agents, RAG applications, or semantic search solutions
• Familiarity with Snowflake Cortex, Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, or similar enterprise AI platforms
• Experience with vector databases, embeddings, and AI evaluation tools
• Experience with Microsoft Azure or other cloud environments
• Financial services, banking, or credit union industry experience

Compensation and Benefits

This position begins as a six-month 1099 independent contractor engagement, paying $50–$65 per hour, based on experience. The engagement is contingent upon individual performance and project requirements.

Successful contractors may be considered for permanent conversion with an annual base salary range of $110,000 to $120,000 plus a 7.5% performance bonus, subject to performance and business needs. Conversion is not guaranteed.
