About Intuitive Machines:

Intuitive Machines is an innovative and cutting-edge space company making cislunar space accessible to both public and private customers. Our mission is to further science and exploration, communications, and economic progress from the Earth to the Moon and beyond. With multiple NASA lunar missions in development and additional private missions on our manifest, we pride ourselves in supporting NASA, our customers, and the nation in paving the way to return humans to the surface of the Moon. Our world-class team includes experts in all aspects of spacecraft subsystems design, development, and test, on-orbit operations, and safety.

About the Position:

Intuitive Machines is seeking a Capture Specialist to lead assigned opportunities from early pursuit planning through proposal submission and project activation, with a primary focus on U.S. government customers, including NASA and national security programs. You will turn customer objectives and complex solicitation requirements into competitive capture strategies and clear, compelling, compliant proposals. This is a hands-on role within Business Development (BD), combining capture planning, technical writing, and proposal process leadership. You will work across Engineering, Mission Management, Finance, Contracts, Legal, and other contributors to develop credible solutions, coordinate inputs, and deliver high-quality submissions on schedule. Pursuits may span lunar delivery, spacecraft systems, communications and navigation services, and space infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead capture planning for assigned pursuits, assessing customer priorities, acquisition timelines, competitors, company capabilities, and gaps; maintain actionable capture plans and support bid/no-bid recommendations.
  • Collaborate with BD colleagues on customer engagement and teaming strategies; develop value propositions, win themes, and differentiators supported by technical capabilities and relevant experience.
  • Analyze requests for information and proposals, statements of work, evaluation criteria, and amendments; translate requirements into clear outlines, compliance matrices, and contributor assignments.
  • Own proposal execution, including kickoff meetings, schedules, resource needs, review milestones, action tracking, and leadership updates.
  • Write and integrate executive summaries, technical and management narratives, past performance descriptions, white papers, and other pursuit materials.
  • Coordinate technical, management, cost, and contractual inputs so proposed scope, assumptions, schedules, and pricing are consistent; support competitive pricing strategy with Finance and BD.
  • Lead structured proposal reviews; work with technical experts, editors, and graphics contributors to strengthen clarity, evidence, readability, and presentation.
  • Oversee final compliance checks, production, approvals, and on-time submission, including page limits, required attachments, file formats, and delivery instructions.
  • Maintain reusable proposal content, templates, graphics, and past performance records; capture lessons learned and improve the efficiency and quality of future pursuits.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, business, management, technical communication, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Five or more years of experience in capture, proposal management, business development, or technical program roles, including direct responsibility for competitive U.S. government proposals.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead proposals from solicitation review through submission and contribute to capture strategy and opportunity qualification.
  • Strong technical writing and editing skills, with the ability to interpret complex requirements and explain technical approaches clearly to technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional contributors, managing concurrent deadlines, and driving decisions and deliverables without direct supervisory authority.
  • Working knowledge of federal acquisition and proposal evaluation processes, with the ability to build compliance matrices and apply solicitation instructions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and experience using collaborative document repositories and version control practices.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience capturing or proposing aerospace or defense programs for NASA or national security customers, with a record of contributing to contract awards with the bidder as prime contractor.
  • Familiarity with spacecraft, lunar or cislunar missions, satellite communications, mission operations, or related space infrastructure.
  • Experience leading complex, multi-volume proposals and coordinating prime contractor, subcontractor, or teaming partner contributions.
  • Familiarity with FAR, DFARS, and the NASA FAR Supplement, as well as ITAR and EAR requirements relevant to proposal activities.
  • Experience with Shipley or APMP methods, color-team reviews, and capture decision gates; APMP certification is a plus.
  • Advanced Microsoft Word skills and experience with SharePoint or similar proposal collaboration tools.
  • An active U.S. government security clearance.
