Molding Head Operator

JOB REQUIREMENTS: JOB SUMMARY Manually make molds on a no-bake loop ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Verify the proper tooling and marking are on the line Apply pattern release as needed Place sleeves, sprue, upsets and chills on pattern according to job tickets Select the proper recipe and fill the mold box with same Vibrate, tuck, and pack as required to achieve a solid mold Strip the mold from the mold box at the appropriate time Clean the pattern as required to insure no stickers on the tool Track the number of molds made Clean the mold mixer after production Calibrate the binder and catalyst daily Replace totes of chemicals as needed Maintain the work space free of excessive sand spillage SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None QUALIFICATIONS None EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE High School diploma, general education degree (GED) or equivalent; or 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, job tickets, and procedure manuals written in English. Must be able to covey issues or concerns relating to the production and finishing of cores. MATH SKILLS Ability to add and subtract in all units of measure, using whole numbers. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
