Original job description
House Manager Integrity Residential Services
Position Summary
First and foremost, the house manager is responsible for delivering quality residential care. This position requires discretion and independent judgment, supervising staff (personal care technician/advance, C.N.A, behavioral care technician, etc.) in the homes and reporting to the Senior Case Manager under the general supervision of the Program Manager. Managers work with nursing and behavioral health support staff to coordinate and monitor the treatment-planning process and to ensure each resident has a safe, healthy, and stable home.
Case management combines the skills of direct care and professional management. All managers must be skilled in maintaining records and charts, preparing written reports, providing training in direct care skills, and maintaining effective working relationships with others. Managers also serve as advocates for our residents with medical, transportation, and other professionals within the service system. This requires managers to take a hands-on approach to their jobs so they know the residents’ daily schedules, support plans, behavioral plans, and medical needs.
This is the entry-level position. At this level, the focus is on learning the procedures, practices, and techniques for the essential duties described above, as well as developing supervisory oversight and gaining competency through both formal and on-the-job training. Caseloads are typically lighter, with 1-2 homes/clients, and are monitored by a Senior Case Manager. Positions continue to develop knowledge of residential case management activities and associated concepts, principles, practices, and techniques. Work is performed under close supervision, progressing to limited supervision.
