Status: Permanent Package: Competitive Salary, Remote/Home Working (with one-off allowance), Flexible Working, (2 Days in the office for our Hybrid workers) Development & Opportunity (Personal & Technical), Medical Insurance, Dental Insurance, Vision Insurance, Life Insurance, Long Term & Short-Term Disability Insurance, Generous 401K (matching) Plan, Flexible Spending Account, Health Savings Account, 15 Days' Vacation + Plus Public Holidays + Buy and Sell Scheme.

d-wise, an Instem company, designs, deploys, and supports validated cloud infrastructure for life-sciences and clinical trial organizations. Our flagship product, Accel, is a turn-key, validated Statistical Computing Environment (SCE) built on AWS and pre-loaded with SAS, R, Python, and Posit tools; giving biostatisticians and clinical programmers a secure, compliant, and high-performance environment for clinical data analysis and regulatory submission. Behind every client environment is an infrastructure-as-code foundation that lets our team provision, replicate, and scale qualified cloud environments quickly and consistently.

We're looking for an entry-level Platform Engineering Associate to support the operational, governance, documentation, and infrastructure activities that underpin d-wise's managed cloud platform. The role will assist with platform operations, AWS administration, disaster recovery readiness, compliance activities, documentation management, and client environment deployments using established tooling and procedures. Working alongside senior Platform Engineers, the successful candidate will gain exposure to cloud infrastructure, automation, platform governance, and operational best practices within a regulated environment.

You’ll be part of a friendly, solutions-focused environment within a global business of over 400 people. Here, you’ll experience a high-performance culture balanced with genuine flexibility - we trust you to take ownership, deliver meaningful results, and work in a way that suits you.

You’ll be encouraged to grow, share your ideas, and make a real impact. We’re passionate about creating a place where you can develop your skills, contribute confidently, and succeed in your career.

Why join us as a Associate Platform Engineer?

This role is a strong launchpad for building hands-on cloud infrastructure experience in a regulated and validated setting.

What You’ll Be Doing:

•Support the build-out and deployment of new client environments using existing IaC templates, modules, and deployment pipelines. •Monitor infrastructure health and deployment pipelines; troubleshoot provisioning errors and escalate complex issues to senior cloud/platform engineers. •Apply approved platform and infrastructure changes using established procedures and tooling, including Terraform-based deployments where appropriate. •Contribute to and maintain deployment runbooks and standard operating procedures, documenting configuration and environment-specific details for client deployments. •Support compliance and validation requirements for regulated environments, including change tracking, audit trails, and version control discipline. •Collaborate with systems and platform administrators (Windows/Linux, SAS, Posit) to ensure environments are provisioned correctly end-to-end. •Identify and support opportunities for operational improvement and automation under the guidance of senior engineers. •Maintain platform documentation, knowledge articles, operational procedures, and engineering standards. •Support disaster recovery planning, testing activities, and maintenance of associated documentation. •Assist with operational reporting, service reviews, and platform health metrics. •Support platform governance activities, including audit evidence collection and compliance reporting. •Assist with change management activities, including documentation updates, implementation support, and post-change validation. •Support deployment, administration, and monitoring of Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP storage platforms. •Support Active Directory integration activities, including domain joins, authentication troubleshooting, and access validation. •Assist with user access management, group membership reviews, and identity-related platform administration tasks. •Support client data migration activities using AWS-native migration services and established operational procedures. •Participate in client environment onboarding, migration rehearsals, cutover activities, and post-migration validation.

What We’re Looking For:

•Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cloud Computing, Information Technology, or a related field - or equivalent hands-on experience. •Intial experience in IT operations, cloud administration, systems administration, technical support, or related internship/academic projects. •Foundational understanding of AWS core services (EC2, VPC, S3, IAM, security groups) and basic cloud networking concepts. •Exposure to Infrastructure as Code concepts and the ability to run and interpret Terraform commands to deploy existing configurations; experience gained through coursework, personal projects, or an internship is a strong plus. •Familiarity with version control (Git) and basic CI/CD concepts (branching, pull requests, automated pipelines). •Foundational understanding of enterprise storage concepts including NFS, SMB/CIFS, snapshots, backups, and replication. •Basic understanding of identity and access management concepts, including Active Directory and role-based access control. •Basic scripting ability in Python, Bash, or PowerShell. •Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills. •Ability to maintain accurate technical documentation, procedures, and operational records. Comfortable working within a regulated, audit-driven environment; ability to follow defined change-control and validation processes.

Ready to Make a Difference?

Join a team that values your perspective and supports your growth, while helping shape the future of life sciences. Apply now - we’d love to hear from you, and our Talent team will be in touch.
