Systems Engineer

About the role Insight Xcite is recruiting Systems Engineers for current and upcoming mission-focused opportunities. Help keep secure systems reliable, automate recurring work, and build the infrastructure that applications and operational teams depend on. Assignments may emphasize enterprise systems, cloud platforms, automation, or specialized operational technology. Specific tools, seniority, education, certifications, and experience requirements depend on the assignment. We will review those requirements, the work location, and the schedule with candidates during the matching process. The examples below describe different types of work; applicants are not expected to have every skill or technology listed. What you may do

• Design, configure, integrate, and maintain systems across their operational lifecycle.
• Diagnose complex failures, identify root causes, and improve performance, availability, and recovery.
• Automate deployment, patching, configuration, and routine administration.
• Implement security requirements and support vulnerability remediation, controlled changes, and technical testing.
• Work with developers, network engineers, security teams, and users to translate requirements into maintainable solutions.
• Maintain configurations, operating procedures, and troubleshooting documentation.

Core qualifications

• At least 6 years of relevant professional experience.
• Practical experience in systems engineering, systems administration, cloud infrastructure, or a closely related discipline.
• A strong foundation in operating systems, networking, and infrastructure troubleshooting.
• Ability to use scripting, automation, or configuration tools to make systems work more reliably.
• Ability to evaluate technical requirements, explain tradeoffs, and document work clearly.

Examples of work

• Enterprise systems: Windows or Linux administration, identity services, patch management, virtualization, and configuration management. Tools may include PowerShell, Active Directory, WSUS, ConfigMgr, VMware, or Hyper-V.
• Cloud engineering: cloud services, deployment pipelines, infrastructure as code, monitoring, and secure configuration. Platforms and tools may include AWS, Azure, Git, Terraform, Bicep, or containers.
• Specialized systems integration: cloud-connected operational systems, media processing, streaming, encoding, or broadcast infrastructure. Relevant experience depends on the mission.

Clearance Requirement Due to the nature of our work, Insight Xcite does not sponsor or process security clearances at this time. Applicants must currently possess an active TS/SCI with Full-Scope Polygraph (FSP) to be considered for employment. Please do not apply if you do not currently hold this level of clearance. Work Location Requirement All Insight Xcite positions are onsite. We do not offer remote or hybrid opportunities. Applicants must be willing and able to work in person at the designated customer location.

Compensation

Compensation within the advertised range is based on relevant experience, demonstrated technical skills, and the requirements of the specific assignment. The upper end is reserved for candidates who meet the most advanced requirements. Benefits That Support You
