Job Description

A client of Insight Global is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join a mission-focused development team supporting critical national defense software capabilities. This engineer will primarily develop, maintain, and enhance backend services and APIs using Java, C++, and Python, while also having opportunities to contribute across the full software stack. The Software Engineer will support operational mission software throughout its lifecycle, including development, deployment, integration, upgrades, modernization, troubleshooting, and sustainment. This individual will work with applications deployed in Linux and cloud-based environments and will be responsible for diagnosing software defects, resolving performance and integration issues, and improving overall application reliability. The engineer will collaborate closely with software engineers, systems engineers, and mission partners in an Agile development environment. A major component of the position involves assessing and triaging deployed software, performing root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions for operational systems.
