Triage Engineer

Required Skills & Experience

-BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Robotics, Automotive Engineering, or equivalent experience. -3+ years of relevant experience in AD/ADAS, automotive software, system integration, validation, or complex system debugging. -Strong hands-on experience in issue triage, debugging, failure analysis, and root-cause analysis. -Strong analytical skills to drive KPI anomaly → Top issue → evidence → root cause → engineering ownership. -Experience analyzing vehicle/system logs, signals, test results, simulation/replay, or large-scale test data. -Strong ownership, logical thinking, and passion for understanding AD product performance and failure mechanisms.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

-Hands-on experience with L2+/L2++/L3 AD/ADAS systems and large-scale vehicle/fleet testing. -Experience owning Triage, KPI analysis, system debugging, or product performance analysis. -Strong Python/scripting skills and experience with triage/data-analysis automation. -Experience with AI/LLM-assisted triage or analysis tools is a plus.

Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Triage Engineer to work onsite with one of our largest clients in the Bay Area. What you’ll be doing: -Perform end-to-end issue triage and root-cause analysis for Autonomous Driving software across on-road, simulation, replay, and system testing. -Understand AD product behavior, software architecture, performance, and issue landscape to efficiently identify product-critical problems. -Work with the Triage Lead to define and track triage scope, priorities, requirements, and execution plans. -Analyze product and technical KPI anomalies to identify Top-N issues, failure patterns, and major performance gaps. -Drive issues through reproduction, classification, debugging, root-cause isolation, ownership routing, and closure. -Clearly present daily Top issues, key findings, and technical risks in project and engineering reviews. -Improve triage workflows, tools, and automation for better efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.

This role can pay $70-85/hr depending on years of experience and skillset.
