Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the full Systems Engineering lifecycle, commonly known as the "Big V." While this role touches all phases of systems development, it is heavily focused on the integration, test, verification, and validation side of the lifecycle. This is a highly hands-on engineering position that combines technical documentation with extensive lab and test-floor support. The ideal candidate will have experience executing test procedures, collecting and analyzing test data, troubleshooting complex system issues, performing requirements verification, and authoring detailed test reports and engineering documentation. Unlike a traditional desk-based Systems Engineering role, this engineer will spend a significant amount of time in a laboratory or production test environment supporting system integration and validation efforts. Responsibilities include updating and executing test procedures, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, supporting verification and validation activities, gathering and analyzing test data, and maintaining requirements traceability throughout the development process. Additional responsibilities include performing requirements analysis using tools such as DOORS, UML, and SysML, contributing to technical planning activities, supporting system architecture and design efforts, participating in milestone and gate reviews, conducting integration and verification activities, assisting with total system cost and risk analyses, and ensuring compliance with applicable engineering standards and processes. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable writing technical documentation and working hands-on with hardware, test equipment, and integrated systems in a fast-paced engineering environment.
