Systems Engineer

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in end-to-end engineering and delivery of large-scale systems
• Retail industry experience supporting POS (point of sale) software and platforms, GK Retail POS is preferred.
• Powershell for scripting
• Leveraging .NET capabilities to query and configure systems
• Familiarity with Windows batch scripting.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• ACI ConnectUp as a payment middleware
• Allied Site Controllers as a fuel controller (communication between POS and gas pumps)
• Primarily Windows, looking to utilize some Linux OpenSUSE in the future.
• Pin-pad support experience (Verifone Engage series (M400, M425 and VHQ)
• SQL knowledge with the ability to query data and perform updates within database environments.

Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a mid-level Systems Engineer for a large convenience retail client in the Des Moines, IA area. This individual will support a pilot project that is implementing a new POS software into this client's store environment. This will be a phased project, implementing GK in increments. As a Systems Engineer, you'll be responsible for new GK point-of-sale system working with all of the other technology in the stores, especially fuel and payment systems. You'll configure it, script/code around it, troubleshoot issues, and work with other 3rd party vendors.

Hourly rate for this position ranges between $40.00-$53.00 and is dependent on experience.
