Nice to Have Skills & Experience

· Prior experience working closely with wet-lab teams on experimental design, data interpretation, and iteration cycles · Deeper exposure to genomic data analysis such as variant detection (SNVs, indels, CNVs, structural variants), RNA splicing, and QC processes · Familiarity with germline and somatic mutation biology and development of genomic biomarkers (e.g., TMB, mutational signatures, LOH) · Working knowledge of R for statistical analysis or visualization · Experience with relational and/or NoSQL database systems · Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex analytical results into clear, digestible insights using visualizations or presentations · Solid troubleshooting mindset with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues

Job Description

We are looking for a seasoned Senior Bioinformatics Scientist to join a growing Bioinformatics and Data Science team focused on advancing regulated diagnostic products. This individual will play a key role in shaping and delivering next-generation genomic assays by leveraging deep expertise in next-generation sequencing (NGS), computational biology, and regulated product development. The position blends scientific leadership with hands-on technical execution, including building and refining analytical pipelines, designing and interpreting studies, and driving assay performance improvements. This person will partner cross-functionally with R&D, engineering, infrastructure, and regulatory teams to ensure scalable and compliant solutions from development through production. Responsibilities include leading bioinformatics strategy for assay development initiatives, designing robust statistical and machine learning approaches to evaluate assay performance, and building cloud-based, production-ready workflows for large-scale genomic data processing. The role also involves contributing to regulatory documentation, supporting submissions and audits, and clearly communicating complex findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Additionally, this individual will mentor junior team members and help elevate overall scientific and technical capabilities within the group.
