Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in software testing, with a mix of manual and automation expertise
• Strong hands-on experience with JUnit for backend Java testing
• Solid proficiency with Jasmine for Angular frontend testing
• Experience with writing test cases and test plans
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, JSON, and browser dev tools
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps)

Job Description

Day to day:

A Fortune 50 client is looking for a Mid-Senior Software Test Engineer who brings a balanced skill set in both manual and automation testing, with deep experience validating backend Java services using JUnit and frontend Angular components using Jasmine. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a proactive testing culture, where quality assurance is embedded early in the development lifecycle to prevent reactive bug fixes post-deployment. You’ll be a key contributor in designing and executing test strategies that ensure stability, scalability, and performance across our software environment - before it ever reaches production. The ideal candidate would be located in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, however remote candidates will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases for backend and frontend systems
• Use JUnit to validate Java-based APIs, services, and business logic
• Apply Jasmine to test Angular components, UI behavior, and user flows
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and DevOps to integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines
• Lead efforts in shift-left testing - identifying issues early in the development cycle
• Perform regression, integration, smoke, and exploratory testing before deployments
• Analyze test results, document defects, and drive resolution through root cause analysis
• Continuously improve test coverage, tooling, and processes to support proactive quality assurance
