Job Description

A large enterprise organization is seeking two Software Engineering Managers to lead engineering teams supporting customer-facing platforms and business applications. This individual will manage teams of approximately 5–15 software engineers, oversee software delivery, develop engineering talent, and partner with Product, Architecture, and business leadership to deliver measurable outcomes.

The ideal candidate has a strong software engineering background, proven people management experience, and the ability to drive delivery through data, accountability, and effective stakeholder communication.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, coach, and develop software engineers, including performance management, career development, and succession planning. Oversee Agile/Scrum delivery, project timelines, resource planning, and execution against business priorities. Track engineering metrics, identify delivery risks, and implement corrective actions before milestones are missed. Communicate project status, risks, dependencies, and measurable outcomes to senior leadership and business stakeholders. Provide technical oversight and guidance while empowering senior technical contributors to own architecture, design, and engineering decisions. Drive engineering best practices across reliability, scalability, security, accessibility, and technical debt management. Support incident response, root-cause analysis, and continuous operational improvement. Manage staffing, contractor/vendor relationships, and budget-related responsibilities.
