Software / DevOps Engineer

Required Skills & Experience

• 2+ years of relevant software / DevOps experience o Hands-on Docker + Kubernetes experience, including building/troubleshooting containers
• Software development experience, preferably Java, followed by C++ or Python
• Comfortable debugging, integrating, testing, and working within existing software/services rather than only writing new applications from scratch
• Ability to obtain a clearance

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• RKE2 / Rancher Kubernetes experience
• Helm experience, particularly installs, deployments, and Helm updates
• OMS experience
• Experience with GitLab, VS Code, pipelines, or software migration/transition efforts
• Secret or TS clearance

Job Description

A government-supporting organization is looking for a Software/DevOps Engineer to support an Air Force operational program. This person will help transition an existing software ecosystem onto new infrastructure, working across approximately 40 different services. The work will include Docker container creation and debugging, Kubernetes testing, Helm updates, pipeline work, integration of new services, troubleshooting, and development of conversion/debugging tools. Rather than building the program's primary services from scratch, this person will spend a lot of time taking existing services and getting them standardized, deployed, tested, and functioning correctly in the new environment.
