Job Description

This SOC Engineer will join a small, collaborative Security Operations and Response Center team to provide additional support during a period of increased workload. The primary focus will be hands-on SOC operations, incident response, and threat intelligence.

The engineer will monitor, investigate, and respond to security incidents using tools such as CrowdStrike and Zscaler, working closely with other members of the security team to identify threats, determine potential impact, and drive incidents through resolution. They will participate in regular team discussions and be expected to bring their own perspective and recommendations to security investigations.

In addition to day-to-day incident response, this individual will help identify lower-level process improvements, refine SOPs and documentation, and strengthen existing SOC workflows. This is primarily an operational, hands-on position rather than a large-scale security project or implementation role.

The team operates in a hybrid environment with three days onsite in NYC, including Wednesday as a designated team day. The remaining onsite days may rotate based on team coverage and office seating. Typical start time is approximately 9:00–9:30 AM, with some flexibility around end times and remote collaboration with international team members.

This individual will also participate in an on-call rotation approximately once every eight weeks, running from Monday evening through the following Monday. Overtime is not encouraged and would generally only occur if an actual incident requires attention while on call. Contractors will not be scheduled for holiday-week on-call rotations.

Pay range $65-70/hr
