Job Description

Summary The Senior Project Engineer will serve as the technical lead for complex substation projects, coordinating engineering activities from design through construction, commissioning, and handover. This person will work across engineering disciplines, procurement, suppliers, project management, field teams, and customers to keep technical scope, schedules, and deliverables moving forward. This is not a hands-on design production role. The ideal candidate comes from a strong substation design background and can confidently read and understand engineering drawings, but their focus will be leading technical coordination, resolving issues, managing interfaces, and driving project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering coordination across multidisciplinary substation projects.
  • Serve as a primary technical point of contact across engineering, project management, customers, suppliers, and field teams.
  • Monitor engineering schedules, identify delays or technical issues, and proactively drive resolution.
  • Lead technical discussions and meetings, establish ownership of action items, and hold teams accountable for follow-through.
  • Partner with procurement and suppliers on equipment specifications, technical evaluations, design reviews, and equipment packages.
  • Coordinate engineering changes and communicate impacts to scope, schedule, budget, and project execution.
  • Support construction and commissioning teams by coordinating responses to field issues and technical questions.
  • Guide less-experienced Project Engineers and help drive engineering priorities across complex projects.
