Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Required Skills & Experience

• 7-10+ years of experience in Mechanical Design Engineering; with knowledge of injection molding, machined parts, and composite laminates
• Demonstrated understanding of metallic, plastic and composite material properties
• Mechanical Design experience on unmanned aircrafts/vehicles and/or related products
• Solidworks design experience

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Thermal modelling + Composite layup design a plus (Kevlar and Carbon prepreg laminates)

Job Description

An employer sitting in Simi Valley, CA is looking to hire multiple Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to support their small unmanned aircraft product. This person will be working onsite full-time on a 9/80 schedule. He/she will be reporting to the AeroMechanical Engineering Manager. This program has completed preliminary design reviews and are looking to bring on a Mechanical Engineer to support and take on different aspects of design, identify any testing that needs to be done, what prototype parts to do the tests on etc. This person will need to have familiarity with injection molding experinece, machined parts, and composite laminates. This ME will be using SolidWorks for design work and may be apart of thermal modelling. This role will be paying between $60-75/hour, depending on years of experience and qualifications.
