Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related discipline 8+ years of consulting engineering experience New York State Professional Engineer (PE) license Power and control system design/construction experience Municipal water/wastewater experience within a consulting environment Experience serving as the lead electrical engineer on mid-large municipal projects (approx. $1M) Proficient in preparing electrical plans and specifications Power distribution, lighting, and control systems expertise Strong written and verbal communication skills Self-motivated with the ability to work collaboratively across disciplines

Broad experience across both water and wastewater capital improvement projects Architectural improvement project experience Construction-phase and submittal review experience Experience leading the technical development of junior/staff engineers Strong multidisciplinary design coordination background

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for a top engineering and architectural consulting client. This individual will take a technical leadership role on municipal water, wastewater, and architectural improvement projects while overseeing and mentoring a team of electrical engineers. The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for electrical power and controls design, development of plans and specifications, multidisciplinary coordination, and construction-phase submittal reviews. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced New York PE looking to combine hands-on technical engineering with project leadership and staff development in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

Lead a team of electrical staff engineers on design and construction projects Oversee electrical and controls engineering for water, wastewater, and architectural improvement projects Collaborate with engineers, architects, scientists, and other disciplines Apply electrical engineering principles to develop project plans and specifications Lead technical development and electrical design efforts Design/specify power distribution, lighting, and control systems Mentor and provide technical direction to staff-level engineers Guide engineers through construction submittal reviews Support projects through design and construction phases Coordinate with senior electrical and managerial staff to ensure successful project delivery
