Job Description

ABOUT THE JOB

You will own the CAD environment for a maritime autonomous vehicle: the master model, the assembly structure, the drawing and release standards, and the PDM configuration that the entire mechanical team works inside. The vehicle is being designed from a clean sheet, which means these decisions are being made now, and every mechanical engineer on the program will work within them for the life of the platform.

Your spectrum of support will be diverse in nature and require you to leverage your technical expertise as well as leadership skills to set objectives, build cross-functional teams, and rapidly drive to completion.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Own the vehicle master model and top-level assembly structure
  • Define CAD standards, modeling conventions, and assembly architecture for the program
  • Administer the PDM environment: workflows, release states, permissions, and revision control
  • Produce and release detailed drawings to ASME Y14 standards, including GD&T
  • Perform tolerance stackups supporting design and interface decisions
  • Manage large assembly performance and model health as the vehicle grows
  • Support engineering change and configuration management processes
  • Partner with mechanical, structural, and systems engineers on design execution
  • Support manufacturing and supply chain with released technical data packages
  • Train and support the team on CAD and PDM practice
  • Travel up to 15% to supplier and manufacturing facilities
