Senior Budget Analyst

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Budget & Policy Analyst for a top local government/public-sector client. This individual will play a key role in complex budget analysis, financial forecasting, and policy research across multiple departments. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, hands-on experience with large financial datasets in Excel, and the ability to turn complex budget information into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership. This is a great opportunity for someone with public-sector finance, budgeting, or policy experience who enjoys partnering with stakeholders and influencing decisions around the effective use of organizational resources.

Skills and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Economics, Public Administration, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in budgeting, financial analysis, or policy administration
• Experience analyzing operating, capital, enterprise, special, and/or internal service fund budgets
• Strong expenditure and revenue analysis experience
• Intermediate or better Microsoft Excel skills, including working with high volumes of data
• Experience analyzing financial/budget data and translating findings into clear recommendations
• Ability to evaluate departmental or program performance measures
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presenting analyses and recommendations to leadership Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and confidential information
