Senior Azure Database Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Database Engineer / DBA to support the modernization of an enterprise data environment transitioning away from legacy Oracle and Informatica technologies toward Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Fabric. This individual will support the migration and modernization of existing database environments, help optimize and troubleshoot database performance, and contribute to the organization’s broader cloud and data-platform transformation initiatives.

The ideal candidate will come from a strong Oracle DBA background but have significant hands-on experience within the Azure ecosystem. This person will work across traditional database administration and modern cloud/data technologies, partnering with existing SQL and technical resources to help transition legacy workloads into a more modern Azure and Fabric-based environment.

Skills and Requirements

7+ years of experience as a Database Administrator, Database Engineer, or similar role, with a strong background supporting Oracle databases Deep hands-on expertise with Oracle database administration, including performance tuning, troubleshooting, maintenance, upgrades, and optimization Strong hands-on experience working within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem and supporting cloud-based database environments Demonstrated experience migrating or modernizing Oracle workloads into Azure Advanced SQL skills, including query optimization, performance analysis, and troubleshooting Experience working with Informatica, ideally supporting migrations or modernization efforts away from legacy Informatica environments Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric or significant experience with Microsoft's modern Azure data stack Experience supporting enterprise-scale database migrations and data-platform modernization initiatives Strong understanding of both traditional database architecture and modern cloud/data architecture Ability to work independently, troubleshoot complex database issues, and collaborate with database, cloud, application, and data engineering teams Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical database challenges into practical solutions
