Required Skills & Experience

o Active Secret clearance o Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related STEM field o 1–3 years of software development experience, including applicable military or co-op experience o Rust experience is a MUST, including understanding of ownership, borrowing, concurrency, and safe/unsafe Rust o Experience or working knowledge of C, C++, or Go o Experience working in Linux environments o Experience with shell scripting and Git/version control

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Job Description

o Insight Global is looking for a Junior Cyber Software Engineer for a client in Aberdeen, MD. This person will spend their day developing secure, efficient software primarily in Rust, while also working with C, C++, or Go as needed. They will help modernize and harden legacy software to reduce vulnerabilities like memory corruption and support integration with embedded hardware, military ground vehicles, and tactical networks. The engineer will also test, debug, and validate software in Linux environments using automated development workflows. They will work alongside engineering and cybersecurity teams to support requirements, system architecture, technical documentation, and secure software delivery.

$35/hr to $55/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
