SAP ABAP Developer

Required Skills & Experience

• 10 years of hands-on SAP S/4HANA Cloud development experience, specializing in ABAP (OOP, RAP, CDS Views, ODATA, SAP Fiori/UI5, and CAP).
• Experience with design, develop, and maintain high-quality ABAP code using object-oriented techniques (ABAP OO), including CDS, RAP, ODATA, and Fiori/UI5.
• Proven track record in SAP S/4HANA implementation projects, especially in Finance (SAP FICO) (multi-module experience a plus). Strong expertise in both in-app and side-by-side extensibility, including UI adaptation, custom fields, business objects, and logic enhancements.
• Proficiency with SAP Business Application Studio, ABAP Development Tools (ADT for Eclipse), and related platforms. In-depth knowledge of technical configurations in S/4HANA (user exits, BADIs, enhancements, custom workflows). Demonstrated ability to develop and optimize SAP Forms, background jobs, and application workflows.
• Experience with software delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) and working in global, distributed teams.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps tools and best practices for CI/CD, quality assurance, and SAP transport management.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills in English. Adaptability, entrepreneurial mindset, and willingness to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Job Description

Insight Global are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on SAP Developer to support a top global consulting client. This role involves close collaboration with Product Owners and Leads to gather requirements, design solutions, and drive the development of SAP-based products tailored to specific business lines. The developer will join a dynamic, cross-functional global team comprising Finance, IT, and Change Management professionals. The developer will partner with business users, technology suppliers, and stakeholders at all levels, collaborating closely with system integrators and technology partners to deliver leading-edge SAP S/4HANA Cloud solutions.

Responsibilities Include:

• Collaborate with Finance, IT, and business teams to analyze requirements and deliver innovative solutions.
• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality ABAP code using object-oriented techniques (ABAP OO), including CDS, RAP, ODATA, and Fiori/UI5.
• Drive end-to-end development activities: requirement analysis, solution design, coding, testing, deployment, and support.
• Develop and customize SAP Forms (Adobe Forms, SmartForms, SAPscript) and manage output requirements.
• Configure and implement technical enhancements, including user exits, BADIs, enhancement spots, custom tables, and integration scenarios.
• Schedule, monitor, and optimize background jobs and application jobs. Lead code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
• Prepare and review comprehensive technical documentation and specifications. Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, including debugging, root cause analysis, and incident management.
• Collaborate with Basis and Security teams for secure transport management, performance optimization, and compliance.
• Apply Agile and DevSecOps methodologies, including CI/CD, automated testing, and performance monitoring.
• Stay current on SAP S/4HANA innovations and leverage new ABAP and SAP BTP capabilities for continuous improvement.
• Support knowledge sharing, technical enablement, and collaboration across distributed and multicultural teams.

This is a full-time position with Insight Global and will sit fully remote in India. Working 40 hours/week (Monday-Friday).
