Job Description
We are seeking an entry-level Associate Robotics Technician to support the hands-on assembly and build of robotic systems used for industrial inspection applications. This is a strong opportunity for someone with a Mechanical Engineering degree or similar technical background who enjoys physically building, troubleshooting, and working with electromechanical systems. The position is focused on taking existing engineering drawings and schematics and turning them into functioning robotic systems rather than designing new products. The robotic systems support inspection work on structures such as naval ships, ship decks, boilers, and tanks, helping identify defects in difficult-to-inspect environments.
- Build (primary responsibility) o Assemble robot prototypes from engineering drawings and work instructions o Perform mechanical sub-assembly, hardware installation, cable routing, and basic system checkout o Flag assembly issues or drawing discrepancies to the engineering team o Support bench-level functional verification after assembly o if possible, would like to find someone with IPC-610/IPC-620/IPC J-STD-001 certifications
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA) (supplemental responsibility) o Tear down and inspect failed hardware returned from the field or from testing o Document failure modes with photos, measurements, and written observations o Support T&R engineers in building failure timelines and identifying root causes o Track failures in internal systems (FRACAS/GRIT) with accurate, detailed records
