Job Description
We are seeking a Revit Drafter / Designer who can support commercial projects by creating, modifying, and maintaining accurate Revit models and construction drawing packages. We are looking for someone who is genuinely hands-on in Revit and comfortable taking design direction, markups, project requirements, and existing drawings and turning them into detailed, construction-ready documentation. This person does not need to be the engineer or architect responsible for owning the overall design, but should understand commercial construction drawings and be capable of working independently within Revit while collaborating with engineering, project management, architectural, and field teams. Experience supporting AV, low-voltage, telecommunications, or structured cabling projects would be highly valuable given USIS's existing work in these areas. Previous USIS roles have involved detailed cabling diagrams, floor plans, installation specifications, site conditions, and coordination with PMs, engineers, and clients.
Skills and Requirements
- Strong hands-on Autodesk Revit experience, with the ability to create, modify, and maintain detailed Revit models and drawing sets.
- Experience using Revit in a commercial construction/building environment, not solely residential work.
- Experience producing construction drawings and documentation, such as floor plans, layouts, elevations, sections, details, and/or infrastructure drawings.
- Ability to take information/direction from engineers, project managers, architects, or field teams and accurately translate it into Revit drawings and models.
- Strong understanding of BIM/drafting standards and drawing accuracy, with the ability to update drawings as project requirements and field conditions change.
- AutoCAD experience in addition to Revit. Previous USIS requirements have specifically sought candidates capable of developing infrastructure design plans using Revit and AutoCAD.
- Experience with AV, low-voltage, telecommunications, or structured cabling drawings.
- Experience with Navisworks and BIM coordination/clash coordination.
- RCDD or other BICSI certification, particularly for candidates coming from structured cabling/telecommunications. previously listed RCDD/BICSI credentials as preferred for its Structured Cabling Designer opening.
