Required Skills & Experience

4–5+ years of hands-on data/platform engineering experience 1–2+ years of technical project/program management experience, including owning work in Jira and managing roadmaps Experience developing end-to-end data pipelines Strong hands-on SQL and Python Cloud/data platform experience, ideally Microsoft Azure/Fabric Experience balancing technical engineering work with project/program ownership

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Healthcare data/environment experience Epic or another EMR/EHR platform GitHub Microsoft Fabric / Azure PMP or PgMP Scrum Master certification Microsoft/Azure certifications

Job Description

Day-to-Day:

Design and develop end-to-end data pipelines Determine how data should be sourced, ingested, transformed, and delivered Work hands-on within the data engineering/platform environment Own and maintain Jira boards, backlogs, and engineering roadmaps Coordinate engineering priorities, deliverables, dependencies, and timelines Serve as the bridge between technical engineering execution and project/program management Partner with technical and business stakeholders to move data initiatives from requirements through delivery Help guide and organize the engineering team's development work

Job Description:

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Data Engineer for a top healthcare client. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong hands-on data engineering experience with technical project/program management skills. The candidate will be responsible for developing end-to-end data pipelines while also helping drive engineering delivery through Jira, roadmaps, prioritization, and cross-functional coordination. The ideal candidate has either grown from data engineering into technical leadership/program management or transitioned from a technical PM background into hands-on data engineering. Experience within healthcare, Azure/Microsoft Fabric, and EMR/EHR data environments is required.
