Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Senior Snowflake Engineer with 8+ years of overall data engineering experience to support a global solutions and services provider delivering enterprise data solutions to a leading healthcare end client. In this client-facing role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and optimizing the Snowflake data environment that will serve as the centralized platform for trusted enterprise data. This role will work closely with the MDM Data Architect, data governance stakeholders, and engineering teams to translate the target-state MDM and enterprise data architecture into scalable, production-ready Snowflake solutions. A major focus will be ingesting and integrating master and operational data from enterprise source systems, implementing transformation and data quality frameworks, and ensuring trusted golden-record data can be efficiently consumed by downstream analytics, applications, and reporting platforms. The ideal candidate is a senior, hands-on data engineer with 8+ years of professional data engineering experience and strong depth in Snowflake who can independently own complex engineering initiatives while contributing to technical design decisions, engineering standards, and modernization efforts within a regulated healthcare environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and build scalable Snowflake data structures supporting master data and broader enterprise data workloads Develop ingestion and transformation pipelines to move data from enterprise sources and MDM platforms into Snowflake Build Snowflake-native ELT solutions utilizing advanced SQL, Streams, Tasks, stored procedures, and other appropriate Snowflake capabilities Partner with the MDM team to consume and operationalize golden-record data, including mastered entities, hierarchies, crosswalks, source identifiers, survivorship outputs, and other MDM attributes Develop data models that support trusted enterprise views of customer, provider, product, organization, or other applicable master data domains Implement incremental processing, change data capture, reconciliation, exception handling, and restart/recovery capabilities across data pipelines Develop automated data quality controls to validate completeness, accuracy, consistency, uniqueness, and integrity of data entering Snowflake Build and maintain ETL/ELT workflows that reliably integrate high-volume and complex enterprise data Design and implement secure data access patterns utilizing RBAC, masking policies, row-level security, encryption, and audit controls Optimize warehouse configuration, query performance, storage patterns, compute utilization, and overall Snowflake cost Build monitoring and alerting capabilities for pipeline failures, data quality issues, SLA violations, and platform performance Implement development and deployment standards utilizing Git and CI/CD pipelines Create reusable engineering frameworks and patterns to accelerate the onboarding of new data sources and MDM domains Support migration and modernization of legacy data pipelines, databases, and datasets into the target-state Snowflake architecture Collaborate with data governance teams to support metadata management, lineage, classification, business definitions, and governed access to enterprise data Produce technical documentation including solution designs, data mappings, source-to-target specifications, runbooks, and operational support documentation Participate in architecture and code reviews and provide technical guidance to other engineers Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues related to Snowflake, data pipelines, data quality, and downstream consumption
Skills and Requirements
Minimum of 8+ years of professional data engineering experience, with demonstrated experience owning complex enterprise data engineering solutions 4+ years of hands-on Snowflake engineering experience preferred Advanced hands-on expertise with Snowflake architecture and engineering, including databases, schemas, warehouses, stages, Streams, Tasks, secure views, stored procedures, and performance optimization Advanced SQL skills with experience developing complex transformations across large-scale enterprise datasets Extensive experience designing and building ETL/ELT pipelines for cloud-based enterprise data platforms Experience integrating Snowflake with multiple enterprise source systems, APIs, MDM platforms, and data integration technologies Strong knowledge of dimensional, relational, and enterprise data modeling techniques Experience implementing automated data quality, reconciliation, validation, and monitoring frameworks Strong understanding of data governance and master data concepts, including the role of golden records and governed enterprise data Experience working with Python for data engineering, automation, and pipeline development Experience working within Git, CI/CD, and modern software/data engineering practices, including version control, automated testing, and controlled deployments Ability to troubleshoot complex data issues across source systems, transformation layers, Snowflake, and downstream consumers Strong communication skills with the ability to operate directly with architects, engineering teams, and client stakeholders in a senior technical capacity Experience supporting healthcare industry data initiatives, including working with PHI or other regulated data Understanding of HIPAA security and privacy requirements as they apply to cloud data platforms Experience integrating Snowflake with MDM platforms such as IBM InfoSphere MDM, Informatica MDM, Reltio, SAP MDG, Semarchy, or Profisee Familiarity with MDM concepts including golden records, match/merge, survivorship, source ranking, hierarchies, crosswalks, and data stewardship Experience with Informatica Cloud Data Governance and Catalog (CDGC) or comparable data governance/catalog solutions Experience modernizing legacy data warehouses or ETL platforms into Snowflake Snowflake certifications such as SnowPro Core or SnowPro Advanced Experience implementing automated data testing frameworks and data observability solutions Experience working in a consulting, professional services, or client-facing enterprise environment
