3+ years of Hospital Inpatient Coding experience Strong experience coding the entire inpatient hospital encounter Expert or near-expert knowledge of DRG-related coding Strong understanding of inpatient coding guidelines and complex diagnosis/procedure coding Ability to independently review documentation and accurately assign appropriate codes and DRGs Comfortable working in a fully remote environment Strong attention to detail and coding accuracy

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Hospital Inpatient Coder to support the Springfield client. This individual will be responsible for coding the full inpatient visit/encounter and should bring strong, advanced knowledge of DRG-related coding. The ideal candidate is a seasoned inpatient coder who can independently manage complex hospital cases with a high level of accuracy.

Review inpatient medical records and code the full hospital stay from admission through discharge Assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes based on clinical documentation Determine and validate the appropriate DRG Review complex documentation to ensure accurate code and DRG assignment Identify documentation or coding discrepancies that could affect the final coded encounter Maintain accuracy and productivity while working independently in a remote environment
