REMOTE EPIC Analyst- VBC / Value-Based Care

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience with Epic Value-Based Population Management (VBPM) or Epic population health/value-based care functionality.
• Strong healthcare payer data experience, particularly medical claims, eligibility, and membership data.
• Experience validating healthcare utilization or population health measures.
• Understanding of continuous enrollment, member months, and member/patient attribution.
• Knowledge of the NYU Emergency Department Algorithm.
• Ability to reconcile and analyze discrepancies between source data and application-generated measures. Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data findings for business and clinical stakeholders.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Epic Value-Based Population Management (VBPM) Data Validation Analyst to support the implementation and validation of Epic’s value-based care tools. This individual will validate that VBPM-generated counts, measures, and outcomes align with HealthPartners source data across MSHO, Medicare Advantage, and Medicaid populations. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of health plan claims, eligibility/roster data, utilization measures, attribution, and population health analytics, with the ability to identify and explain discrepancies between payer data and Epic calculations.

Key Responsibilities

• Validate VBPM-generated measures and member counts against HealthPartners source data for MSHO, Medicare Advantage, and Medicaid products.
• Identify and investigate gaps between payer source data and Epic VBPM/VBA outputs.
• Confirm Epic is calculating utilization and population health measures appropriately based on available source data.
• Analyze claims data to validate utilization-based measures.
• Review roster and eligibility data to validate: ○ Continuous enrollment ○ Member months ○ Member attribution
• Help determine whether discrepancies are caused by source data, data availability, attribution logic, or measure calculations.
• Document validation results and clearly explain what VBPM/VBA outcomes mean to business and Value-Based Care stakeholders. Help build organizational confidence in the accuracy and appropriate use of Epic’s VBA/VBPM tools.
