Remote Database Developer

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a fully remote skilled PostgreSQL Developer / Database Engineer with extensive experience designing, developing, optimizing, and supporting enterprise-scale PostgreSQL database solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database architecture, performance tuning, data integration, and cloud-native database platforms.

Skills and Requirements

• 5+ years PostgreSQL experience; enterprise-scale database environments preferred
• Logical and physical data modeling, normalization and denormalization, entity relationship modeling, partitioning strategies, and scalable schema design
• Complex SQL, PL/pgSQL, CTEs, window functions, stored procedures, views, materialized views, and execution plan analysis
• B-Tree, Hash, GIN, GiST, BRIN indexes, VACUUM optimization, statistics management, memory tuning, and performance troubleshooting
• PostgreSQL Tooling - pgAdmin, psql, pg_dump, pg_restore, monitoring tools, WAL management, migration utilities
• Kafka, CDC, batch and real-time pipelines, integration frameworks, and event-driven architectures
• Python, Java, SQL, Bash, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Microservices, Docker, Kubernetes
• AWS RDS, Aurora PostgreSQL, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, Google Cloud SQL, Terraform, CI/CD
• Data Security - RBAC, encryption at rest and in transit, auditing, compliance, PHI, PII, PCI protection.
