Job Description

We are seeking a Controls Program Engineer to support construction quality and commissioning initiatives across its growing data center portfolio. This individual will serve as a technical subject matter expert for Building Management Systems (BMS), Building Automation Systems (BAS), Energy/Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), and controls integration activities throughout the construction lifecycle.

The ideal candidate combines strong controls engineering knowledge with construction, commissioning, and stakeholder management experience. This role will partner closely with General Contractors, Controls Integrators, Commissioning Agents, and Operations teams to ensure systems are designed, installed, commissioned, and turned over according to our customers quality and operational standards.

This is a highly visible programmatic role focused on quality, constructability, commissionability, risk mitigation, and operational readiness rather than hands-on controls programming.

Location: Remote (East/Central U.S. Preferred) Travel: 40-60%

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the technical controls lead across multiple active construction projects. Review BMS, BAS, EPMS, SCADA, and monitoring system designs for constructability, operability, and commissioning readiness. Collaborate with General Contractors, Controls Integrators, Design Teams, and Commissioning Agents throughout project delivery. Evaluate commissioning readiness and identify technical risks prior to system turnover. Review technical documentation, RFIs, submittals, design changes, and commissioning deliverables. Validate controls integration strategies and help resolve complex technical issues. Support quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives related to controls and commissioning programs. Drive standardization efforts across controls, monitoring, and commissioning processes. Communicate technical findings and recommendations to both field teams and leadership stakeholders. Ensure facilities are delivered with a high level of quality and operational readiness.

Compensation:

$65hr to $90/hr + OT (Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.)

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
