Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of hands-on enterprise application development experience
• Strong Python development experience with deep knowledge of the Django framework
• Experience with FastAPI and API/integration development
• Strong experience with MySQL and/or PostgreSQL
• Experience reviewing existing application code and remediating security vulnerabilities
• Strong understanding of Angular, JavaScript/ES6, HTML5, and CSS3
• Strong SQL skills, including data modeling, query optimization, SQL objects, and joins
• Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming and SOLID design principles
• Experience with Git, unit testing, and automated testing

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Event-driven architecture using Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar message brokers
• Experience with cybersecurity-related applications, workflows, or remediation efforts

Job Description

Position Summary We are looking for a Senior Python Developer with 5+ years of enterprise application development experience to support and enhance large-scale applications. This is a 100% hands-on coding role, not a team lead position. A significant portion of the work will focus on code vulnerability remediation, so this person needs to be able to hit the ground running, quickly understand an existing codebase, identify security vulnerabilities, and implement effective fixes. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Python/Django, FastAPI, relational databases, and Angular and be comfortable developing solutions from scratch.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise applications using Python and Django
• Review existing code to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities
• Build and maintain FastAPI integrations and RESTful services
• Work with MySQL/PostgreSQL databases, including SQL development, data modeling, query optimization, and complex joins
• Support front-end development and integrations within an Angular-based UI
• Develop solutions and unit tests based on business requirements, acceptance criteria, and security/compliance standards
• Participate in story refinement and help define technical requirements
• Perform technical spikes and proof of concepts when needed to validate new solutions and reduce risk
• Troubleshoot complex application and integration issues
• Develop and maintain automated integration, regression, and performance tests
• Work within an Agile/Scrum development environment
• Leverage GitHub Copilot and other AI-assisted development tools appropriately to accelerate development while maintaining code quality and security

This candidate is responsible to be onsite 5 days a week in Charlotte, NC, Chicago, ILL or Denver, CO
