Our client is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join its growing Security Systems Field Service team. This individual will manage installation and upgrade projects for advanced security screening systems being deployed at airports across the U.S. This is a large-scale TSA/federal program with installations ramping up over the next 12 months. The Project Manager will coordinate field service teams, general contractors, subcontractors, internal resources, logistics, installation schedules, and customer stakeholders from project kickoff through onsite testing and completion.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple security system installation, upgrade, relocation, and removal projects across the U.S.
- Own and maintain the integrated master schedule for assigned projects.
- Coordinate site preparation through onsite and remote project meetings.
- Work directly with TSA/customer stakeholders, general contractors, system integrators, subcontractors, and internal field service teams.
- Coordinate shipping, rigging, equipment positioning, installation, and onsite testing.
- Manage subcontractor relationships throughout the installation process.
- Coordinate field resources across multiple project locations.
- Provide regular project updates to management and customers.
- Identify and manage project risks, schedules, scope, costs, quality, and communication.
- Support projects through installation and transition into ongoing field service and maintenance.
Skills and Requirements
- 3–5+ years of Project Management experience.
- Experience managing field installation, field service, construction, security, infrastructure, or similar projects.
- Strong experience managing schedules and coordinating multiple projects or sites simultaneously.
- Comfortable working directly with customers, contractors, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
- Strong communication and organization skills.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred. Associate degree or relevant trade certifications will also be considered.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
- Experience supporting TSA, DHS, federal government, or other federal contracts.
- Aviation, airport security, security systems, or checkpoint technology experience.
- PMP or PMI certification.
- Experience with Microsoft Project, TaskRay, and/or SharePoint.
- Previous experience with airport security screening equipment or similar field deployments.
Because this position supports work at U.S. airports and on a federal program, candidates must be able to:
- Successfully complete the required e-QIP/background investigation and airport badging process.
- Complete a pre-employment drug screen.
- Meet company requirements for a corporate credit card.
- Travel to customer locations as projects require.
