Job Description

We are seeking two experienced Product Owners to support a long-term, multi-year application initiative within a complex financial services environment. These individuals will serve as the day-to-day product owners for smaller Agile squads and will be responsible for taking high-level epics and independently driving them through refinement, story development, planning, and execution. The ideal candidate is someone who can operate with a high level of autonomy. Requirements may initially be open-ended, so this person must be comfortable asking the right questions, understanding the bigger picture, identifying dependencies, and translating business needs into clear, actionable user stories. This role will work closely with business partners based in London as well as developers, QA, technical teams, and product leadership. Strong communication and analytical thinking are critical.

Responsibilities

  • Own assigned product epics from initial requirements through delivery.
  • Translate high-level and sometimes ambiguous business requirements into structured, detailed user stories.
  • Identify requirements, dependencies, risks, and sequencing needed to move an epic forward.
  • Lead story refinement and support Agile planning with development and QA teams.
  • Work directly with business stakeholders to clarify requirements and understand business priorities.
  • Manage day-to-day product activities for an Agile squad of approximately five team members.
  • Partner closely with developers, QA, technical resources, and product leadership.
  • Maintain and prioritize stories and product work within Jira.
  • Work backward from deadlines and milestones to ensure the team has clearly defined requirements and priorities.
  • Quickly learn a complex structured-finance business and proactively ask questions to build domain knowledge.
  • Operate independently with limited oversight while keeping stakeholders aligned and informed.
