Principal Software Engineer – Guidewire PolicyCenter

Required Skills & Experience

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the PolicyCenter development team and technical delivery of the implementation.
• Provide technical direction to systems integrator partners and ensure quality delivery.
• Design and configure PolicyCenter architecture, product models, rating, rules, and integrations.
• Lead migration from legacy policy administration systems, including data conversion and cutover.
• Build integrations between PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter, and other enterprise systems.
• Own PolicyCenter rating solutions, including algorithms, rate tables, and rating changes.
• Establish Guidewire development best practices around Gosu, configuration, testing, CI/CD, and upgrade-safe development.
• Mentor engineers and expand PolicyCenter knowledge across the team.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide long-term solutions. Required Experience
• 7+ years of Guidewire development experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on PolicyCenter experience.
• Experience delivering solutions on the Guidewire Cloud Platform.
• Deep PolicyCenter configuration experience, including product model, coverages, forms, underwriting rules, and workflows.
• Strong PolicyCenter rating experience, including rate tables and rating engines.
• Strong Gosu and Java experience, including PCF configuration.
• 5+ years working with REST APIs and enterprise integrations.
• Experience integrating PolicyCenter with BillingCenter and ClaimCenter.
• Experience with policy system data conversion/migration.
• Strong SQL and relational database experience.
• Technical leadership experience within complex Guidewire implementations. Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Guidewire PolicyCenter Configuration certification.
• BillingCenter, ClaimCenter, or Cloud Integration Developer certifications.
• Guidewire Advanced Product Designer (APD) experience.
• DevOps, CI/CD, test automation, and cloud deployment experience.
• Guidewire Digital/Jutro experience.
• Insurance industry experience, particularly policy administration.

Job Description

Seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead the technical delivery of Guidewire PolicyCenter on the Guidewire Cloud Platform. With BillingCenter and ClaimCenter already live, this person will help lead the PolicyCenter implementation and migration, providing hands-on technical leadership across architecture, configuration, rating, integrations, and data migration. The pay range for this role is $65-75hr depending on years of experience.
