Principal Software Engineer – Guidewire Digital / Jutro

Required Skills & Experience

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of digital portals and applications using Guidewire Jutro (JDP).
• Build solutions supporting policy quoting, binding, servicing, and self-service.
• Own front-end architecture, reusable components, accessibility, performance, and development standards.
• Integrate Jutro applications with PolicyCenter using Guidewire Cloud APIs.
• Partner with UX, product, business stakeholders, and PolicyCenter engineering teams.
• Provide technical direction and oversee systems integrator partners.
• Establish best practices around code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, and application quality.
• Mentor engineers and provide knowledge sharing across Guidewire Digital and modern web development.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and recommend long-term solutions. Required Experience
• 2+ years of hands-on Guidewire Jutro Digital Platform (JDP) experience.
• 5+ years of Guidewire development experience, preferably PolicyCenter.
• 7+ years developing modern web applications using JavaScript/TypeScript, React, HTML, and CSS.
• 5+ years working with REST APIs, including OAuth 2.0.
• Experience integrating front-end applications with PolicyCenter through Guidewire Cloud APIs.
• Strong understanding of responsive design, WCAG accessibility, and front-end performance.
• Experience with automated testing and CI/CD.
• Cloud experience with Azure and/or AWS.
• Experience with backend technologies such as Java, C#, or Python.
• Strong technical leadership and communication skills.

Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Preferred

• Guidewire PolicyCenter certification.
• Jutro Developer or Cloud Integration Developer certification.
• Experience delivering broker, agent, producer, or insured portals.
• Experience with Guidewire Cloud Platform.
• Azure experience, including APIM, Azure Functions, or Service Bus.
• Previous insurance industry and technical leadership experience.

Job Description

Seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead the design and development of digital applications built on Guidewire PolicyCenter and the Guidewire Cloud Platform. This person will focus heavily on Guidewire Jutro Digital Platform (JDP), building modern portals and applications used by brokers, agents, insureds, and internal teams. This is a hands-on technical leadership role combining deep Guidewire expertise with modern front-end development. The pay range for this role $65-75hr depending on years of experience.
