Job Description
Daily Responsibilities: A large healthcare organization is looking for a Principal Enterprise Solution Architect to architect and deliver AI-enabled healthcare solutions for its Provider segment: Home Health, Hospice, Rehab and other services. The role has two tracks. The first is building AI-powered EMR capabilities. The second is designing AI products that work around the organization's existing commercial EMRs, such as AI-assisted documentation, summarization, intelligent intake, clinical search and decision support. This person turns real clinical and operational workflows into scalable architecture on Azure, and works directly with vendor development teams to make sure that architecture gets built correctly and reaches production. Because the work affects patient care, they're responsible for building HIPAA, clinical safety and human approval into every AI-driven workflow.
- Set the architecture: Define target-state architecture, domain models and roadmaps for AI-powered EMR and Provider platforms.
- Build AI around EMRs: Design AI products for documentation, summarization, intake, search and care coordination that work across multiple EMR platforms.
- Translate clinical workflows: Partner with clinical, product and operations teams to turn intake-through-claims workflows into product capabilities.
- Own interoperability: Define FHIR, HL7, SMART on FHIR and vendor API integration patterns across EMRs, pharmacies, labs, HIEs and payers.
- Lead delivery: Work alongside vendor engineers, review designs and APIs for conformance, and resolve technical tradeoffs through go-live.
- Protect patients and data: Build in HIPAA, auditability, human-in-the-loop and validation before AI touches the clinical record.
