Platform Engineer (AWS)

Required Skills & Experience

 We need a mid-level Platform Engineer with a strong software engineering foundation. The sweet spot is around 3-5 years of experience. They need to be able to code, have strong AWS experience, and understand Infrastructure as Code. This isn't a traditional architect who sits at a high level designing solutions. We need someone hands-on who can build and configure cloud services and platforms that make it easier for software engineering teams to develop, deploy, and deliver applications. Experience with AI-assisted development workflows is also important.

Requirements:

 Looking for Level 3s (3-5 years of experience)  Hiring manager said this is essentially a Platform Engineer o Focused on configuring cloud services like AWS and enabling software engineering or other engineering teams to deliver quickly.  Must have some programming experience: Typescript, Golang, or Python o Software engineering/programming background is critical for this role.  Must have strong AWS o Understands AWS cloud services and how to configure/build services that enable software engineering teams  Must have Infrastructure as code - Terraform, AWS CDK, and/or CloudFormation  A lot of development is focused on AI tooling now. Need to have experience with AI augmented workflows in their development.

• Experience with Kubernetes administration and application deployment paradigms
• Experience with AWS CDK
• Experience with TypeScript
• Experience with logging and organization management AWS solutions such as CloudWatch, Identity Center, OpenSearch, and Organizations
• Experience executing on Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) needs within the FedRAMP Moderate or PCI DSS v4.0 regulatory regimes
• Experience operating in a government-facing regulated environment with an Authorization to Operate (ATO)
• Experience triaging and resolving issues related to open-source and commercial tools in public cloud environments
• Experience with keyboard engineering implementations
• Experience with Amazon Q
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python and BASH

As a member of the team, you’re eager to build, manage, and secure a cloud-native container platform that meets your client’s needs and takes full advantage of the cloud’s capabilities. We need you to engineer container management and cloud management solutions to resolve some of our clients’ toughest challenges.
• As a Cloud Computing Architect at Booz Allen, you can use your technical skills to affect mission-forward change. You’ll work with your team as they use the latest cloud technologies to improve your client’s environment with current container and cloud management solutions to ensure seamless orchestration. Using your DevOps platform expertise, you’ll contribute to strategy and design while ensuring standards are met throughout the containerization process. You’ll recommend resources that will help your client manage and securely adopt containers.
• Additionally, you’ll continue to strengthen your DevOps skills while supporting the development of critical cloud platforms. Work with us to use cloud platform technology for good.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in the development of tools and processes to drive DevOps or DevSecOps maturity by automating builds, regression testing, monitoring, and pushing releases across environments
• Experience developing, managing, and securing cloud-native solutions with a focus on containers in AWS
• Experience implementing, maintaining, and updating Infrastructure-as-Code solutions such as AWS CDK, AWS CloudFormation, or Terraform
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of experience in DevOps or DevSecOps, or 8+ years of experience in DevOps or DevSecOps in lieu of a degree

pay range: $60/hr - $80/hr)
