OSP Engineer

Required Skills & Experience

Must Haves

• Strong OSP/fiber engineering background,
• Direct experience working with municipalities/jurisdictions and fiber permitting
• Strong underground engineering knowledge
• Ability to review prints, drive/validate routes in the field, and engineer around permitting or construction obstacles
• Local/in-market enough to support the Allentown → Philadelphia → Lancaster corridor

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Pluses

• Existing relationships with Eastern PA municipalities/jurisdictions
• 7–10 years of OSP experience
• Previous fiber carrier/company experience
• Long-haul fiber or ring experience
• Strong construction knowledge in addition to engineering

Day to Day:

• Review OSP fiber prints and route designs
• Drive routes to validate designs against actual field conditions
• Work through munis, permitting, ROW, utility, and underground constraints
• Modify/solve engineering challenges to make routes permittable and constructable
• Coordinate with permitting and construction teams as projects move forward

Job Description

Seeking an experienced OSP Engineer to support fiber-network expansion throughout Eastern Pennsylvania. This person will review OSP designs, validate routes in the field, partner around municipal and permitting requirements, and solve constructability challenges.

The ideal candidate is an engineering-first OSP professional who understands underground fiber construction and can identify when a route that works on paper will not work in the field. This person should be comfortable working with local jurisdictions and adjusting engineering solutions around permitting utility, ROW, and field constraints.
