• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) License
• 5+ years of civil engineering experience supporting telecommunications, utility, transportation, or infrastructure projects
• Experience reviewing construction drawings, engineering plans, and technical specifications
• Knowledge of underground conduit systems, utility crossings, and constructability considerations
• Experience working with permitting requirements, municipalities, and utility stakeholders
• Strong understanding of engineering standards and design best practices
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, construction, and operations teams

• OSP fiber engineering experience
• Experience supporting a telecommunications carrier or fiber provider
• AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar design software experience

Day-to-Day

• Review OSP fiber designs, engineering packages, and construction plans
• Provide engineering guidance on conduit systems, utility crossings, and route selection
• Support constructability reviews and resolve design challenges
• Collaborate with engineering, construction, permitting, and operations teams
• Develop and maintain engineering standards and best practices
• Support network expansion projects across multiple markets
• Review contractor-submitted designs and ensure compliance with company standards
• Provide technical expertise throughout the planning and execution of fiber infrastructure projects

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Civil Engineer to support a leading fiber infrastructure client as they continue expanding their nationwide fiber network. This individual will provide civil engineering expertise for outside plant (OSP) fiber projects, supporting route design, conduit systems, utility crossings, constructability reviews, and engineering standards across multiple markets. The ideal candidate has a strong civil engineering background within telecommunications or utility infrastructure and enjoys collaborating with engineering, construction, and operations teams to solve complex design challenges. This role will serve as a key resource for reviewing engineering packages, ensuring adherence to design standards, and providing technical guidance on new network deployments. This position can sit remotely anywhere within the United States.

Compensation: $45/hr - $55/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Employees in this role will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package starting on day one of employment, including options for medical, dental, and vision insurance. Eligibility to enroll in the 401(k) retirement plan begins after 90 days of employment. Additionally, employees in this role will have access to paid sick leave and other paid time off benefits as required under the applicable law of the worksite location.
